We have had an increase and spike in sickness circulating our school. Some of these include pneumonia, flu, COVID and stomach bugs. It is very important for sick students to stay home. If you have to administer medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen, it is best to keep that child home for observation since their symptoms could be masked until the effects of the medication wear off.
When they have a fever, they are usually highly contagious. When a student comes to school sick, they expose all those around them. The chart above is good guidance and goes hand in hand with our school policy.
If your child has been sent home with fever, diarrhea or vomiting, they must stay home for at least 24 hours. Please help us prevent the spread of illnesses at school.
Other measures to help include washing jackets and backpacks frequently and specially after being sick and before returning to school.
Thank you for your support.
Respectfully,
Juliana Osornio, RN
